Enhanced Leadership Development through Personality Assessment
Identifying and nurturing future leaders and developing current leadership have long been accepted strategies for increasing organizational effectiveness. Even in these tough economic times, the criticality of leadership development has continued to escalate - with good reason. Organizations that invest in leadership development consistently outperform those that don't. And the development and retention of key leaders will be essential as organizations navigate the current environment and strategize for the eventual turnaround. This course reviews strategies for successfully utilizing personality assessment to accelerate development of leaders in organizations.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for Human Resource and Organizational Development Professionals; Psychologists; Coaches; Trainers; and others who are currently engaged in leadership development or are looking to expand their practice into the leadership development arena.
Learning Objectives
Participants will learn the strategies and processes necessary for utilizing personality insights from the 16PF® Questionnaire to: 1) Identify those with leadership potential, and 2) Support current leaders by creating valuable individual development plans to reinforce strengths and close performance gaps. During the workshop, attendees will practice using IPAT assessments and reports within the leadership development context. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the factors contributing to the latest leadership development challenges
- Understand the unique challenges in developing and retaining the next generation of leaders
- Evaluate how 16PF tools can be used to address these challenges
- Interpret and utilize 16PF results to evaluate the leadership potential of employees and build bench strength for the future
- Use assessment-based leadership development solutions that will enhance the personal and professional growth of superior managers and supervisors
- Identify and evaluate traits related to leadership effectiveness as well as leadership derailment

Continuing Education
This full-day workshop provides 6 CE credit hours.
IPAT is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. IPAT is also an approved sponsor of continuing education by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), and the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). In addition, the National Career Development Association (NCDA) recognizes and accepts these NBCC-approved CE credits. IPAT maintains responsibility for this program and all content.

Prerequisites
To ensure maximum benefit, attendees should be qualified to use Level 2 psychological assessments. Note: Successful completion of the Qualification Training for the 16PF Questionnaire course provides Level 2 qualification.
