"For decades now I've relied upon solid instruments from IPAT for addressing psychological assessment challenges in diverse national security settings -- the right instruments and reports, tailored for an essential role in comprehensive consulting work, such as screening and selection for high reliability occupations."

"I have found IPAT products extremely useful for my own professional and leadership development as well as for fitness for duty and risk assessments and leadership consulting. I have also attended multiple IPAT training workshops. Each one was well worth the time and cost as I acquired many new skills and returned to my office with volumes of valuable resource materials. IPAT Customer Service is first rate."

"We are now using the 16PF Career Development Report as a standard part of our executive coaching intake process. Our clients consistently find the report to be insightful and provocative. A discussion of the report invariably illuminates key areas of interest and concern and helps both client and coach focus and prioritize the coaching engagement. The "Personal Career Effectiveness Considerations" section of the report provides an ideal foundation for career planning discussions and developmental assignments."

Kirk Hallowell, Ph.D., Principal

"I use the 16PF Questionnaire as well as other personality assessments and there is no comparison. Most personality assessments lack fidelity - it's like looking at the Global Factors on the 16PF Questionnaire, without being able to tease apart the 16 individual factors which define the unique patterns and differences of the test taker for useful purposes like comparing to others, prediction, feedback, guidance or other real-life interpretations.

I can't speak to the science as Heather Cattell (co-author of the 16PF Fifth Edition Questionnaire) can, but as to the practice, lack of fidelity = lack of utility. With other tests, you can understand broad behaviors but the overlap with other people is considerable - there aren't enough possible combinations to be able to uncover the deep structure of personality.

The elegance of the "Big Five" tests is tempting - 5 factors and their various iterations are easier to grasp than 16 factors. The 16PF assessment may take extra time and effort to thoroughly understand; however, if you need a robust assessment of personality, I've yet to find a shortcut.

I suggest going to the publisher-sponsored workshops and reading the manual and research of Heather Cattell and others until you get to the point that the thought of reducing personality to five factors no longer seems tempting and instead feels limiting."

"I honestly feel as though I have never purchased assessment products from a more capable group of people. You have made the process of moving to NetAssess absolutely seamless and, quite frankly, enjoyable! Your method of online testing works exactly as I had envisioned."

"We have used the 16PF® Questionnaire for many years and find this assessment (and applicable reports) to be a valuable resource in our consulting practice. The 16PF instrument is a well-researched and highly-respected tool, assisting us in providing the best solutions to our client base. "Since the late 1980's, I have used IPAT's Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (16PF) as an important instrument for my mental assessment protocols with athletes and coaching staffs. More specifically, my use of the 16PF as part of these protocols has contributed to meaningful identification and development of professional athletes and coaches for teams associated with Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, the Women's National Basketball Association, and the National Hockey League.

Over the years, I have found IPAT technical and customer service professionals to be top rank: courteous people, helpful to me and associates, informative in their suggestions, practical in their approach, and timely in terms of their advice."

Dr. Charlie Maher, Professor of Psychology
Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology
Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ

"We have used the 16PF Questionnaire with people of all age groups, from 18 to 72 years and in multiple applications, from coaching to career counseling. The information it provides is useful, accurate, and practical. For years, we have heard the same response: "I can’t believe how accurately this report describes me!" As practitioners, the 16PF assessment helps us to better understand people. What is most important is that it helps people clarify what they already know about themselves and provides them with new and additional insights which help them increase their self-awareness and better plan for their futures."

"The CCPI is my tool of choice to gain a complete understanding of client functioning from a personality perspective. It helps me sort out problem areas that may affect client functioning in career success and provides suggestions to more quickly resolve issues. In career counseling, immediacy is the key!

Whether for career counseling or career direction, some of the more dynamic CCPI interpretive results provide information on 1) interactive roles as in power, authority, assertiveness; 2) self development roles such as values, discipline, and autonomy; 3) intellectual factors such as aptitudes, reasoning strengths, and achievement orientation; and 4) occupational compatibility and organizational fit."

Jeannette C. Nicholson, Ph.D.

"Apart from the utility of the 16PF itself, I have found the Teamwork Development Report helpful in three settings. The first is investigatory - when an intact team is working well together, it is useful to look at the characteristics of the individuals comprising it. What do they bring to the table that seems to work well in this particular setting with these particular challenges? What can we learn from that?

Second, if a team is struggling, the TDR typically can highlight the factors that contribute to potential friction, roadblocks, or misunderstandings that may arise from the interaction among the individuals themselves.

Third, it is particularly helpful with teams that are in the initial stages of formation; what are we getting into here?

The value of the 16PF TDR is that unlike more role-specific instruments, it retains its applicability across all team settings. It makes no assumptions about team goals or purpose, but returns information that can be helpful in almost any setting. TDR feedback is broad-based enough to be comprehensible to the participants, but targeted such that the professional gets enough detailed information to work with the team and individuals within it. The teams with which I have used the TDR have all found the experience helpful and insightful."
