When IPAT was founded in 1949 by the esteemed Dr. Raymond Cattell, his Sixteen Personality Factor (16PF®) Questionnaire was a revolutionary concept for measuring normal personality. Since then, it has become the most respected and widely used measure of adult personality in the world.

IPAT sells access to intellectual property (e.g., assessments and interpretive reports) and technology platforms that it has developed and copyrighted. This involves managing a portfolio of several thousand human resource professionals, government sector customers, and value-added resellers that utilize IPAT products and services with their own employees, individual clients, or organizational clients.
