16PF® Anniversary Celebration! |
A Landmark in Behavioral Assessment
When Raymond Cattell published the first edition of the 16PF® Questionnaire in 1949, it was a revolutionary concept: measuring the whole of human personality using a structure discovered through factor analysis. Since then, it has become one of the most respected and well-documented behavioral assessment instruments in the world. In fact, many of today’s widely accepted interpretations of personality and behavior, including the big-five factor structure, are based in part on Dr. Cattell’s early theories.
While it was clear in 1949 that the 16PF Questionnaire was a radical change in behavioral assessment, no one could have foreseen the sweeping changes that would come to society and technology over the next six decades. Now in its Fifth Edition, the 16PF Questionnaire has evolved with the times and represents a controlled, natural evolution that reflects our society today. Its interpretive reports address current issues in employment selection, career development, public safety, couple counseling, executive coaching, and clinical evaluations. And as a construct-valid measure of the whole domain of normal, adult personality, the 16PF Questionnaire is the instrument of choice for research to predict important criterion behaviors.
Available in over 20 languages, with advocates worldwide in all areas of psychometric assessment and an organization that is dedicated to growing and enhancing 16PF products and services, the 16PF Questionnaire is poised for an exciting future. |
